Photo challange: Fireworks

This is my first attempt to take part in one of my friend's photo challenges, and my first attempt to post multiple pics to a blog entry, so bear with me...

My dear friend Jess challenged us to to post pictures about fireworks this week. Ours were pretty lame and never left the ground, however the kids still liked them, as you can see by their faces.

They're holding glass jars because before the "show" they were trying to catch fireflies. Honestly that was probably more fun than the fireworks, but at least they were sweet enough not to say so.

Awesome! Your girls are adorable! I SO wanted to catch fireflies this weekend at my parent's cabin, but we couldn't find a jar! Did they get any!? And good job with the pics, girl!

Fiona caught one in her hair! LOL, I help her scoop it into the jar but she slammed the lid on so enthusiastically while it was still on the rim she probably broke some of it's legs, poor firefly.

They are convinced if they catch one they can make a wish. I'd almost rather Saskia doesn't catch one, after the wishing well incident... she still asks two years later when is her wish going to come true. sigh.

Catching fireflies sounds like so much fun! Too bad the fireworks didn't get off the ground, but at least the girls enjoyed them anyway. Sounds like a wonderfully low-key Fourth of July to me.
